Atomic London has today announced the appointment of Nicky Vita as its Head of Strategy to lead on an exciting new chapter for the agency and to help drive its accelerated growth journey.

Vita joins from VCCP London where she spent just over seven years, and most recently held the role of joint Head of Planning. She was part of the pitch team behind VCCP’s recent appointment to Primark’s global creative account, and also worked on clients including Cadbury UK, Maynards Bassetts, Charlie Bigham’s and O2, for which she helped to develop the award-winning “Oops” campaign. Her work on LinkedIn has also won accolades from the Marketing Society and Marketing Week, plus several creative awards.

In her new role at Atomic London, Vita will lead on the agency’s unified creative proposition in partnership with Managing Director Louise Rudaizky and John Cherry, who joined as Executive Creative Director from Mother earlier this year.

The move follows Steve Hopkins’ decision to launch his own consultancy business. He will continue to work with Atomic in that capacity for the foreseeable future.

The new hire follows a number of major strategic moves from Atomic London, which recently launched a specialist media division, Atomic Altitude, and its unique social creator agency, Supernova.

With 22+ years in strategy and planning, Vita has previously worked at agencies including BBH, McCann and TBWA/ Hunt/ Lascaris.

Jon Goulding, CEO, Atomic London, said: “Nicky is a brilliant strategist. She led one of last year’s highest profile pitches and has been front and centre in some amazing award winning campaigns. We’re delighted to have her join Atomic and bring her unique combination of energy, passion and strategic brilliance to lead us on what is an exciting and unique journey that we’re going on, to re-define what a modern creative agency should really be offering clients.”

Nicky Vita, new Head of Strategy, Atomic London, added: “I am thrilled to be joining Atomic at this pivotal stage in its journey. Throughout our conversations, I’ve been impressed and excited by the team’s creative ambition and depth of capability, and see Atomic as an agency just brimming with potential and itching to show people what it can do. I can’t wait to get stuck in and be part of this.”
